the month started out slowly. I was trying to pack in as much of utah as I could before we moved which left little time for reading...it didn't help that the first book I read wasn't one I would recommend. anyway, after book 2 for the month, I was hooked and found some really good books.
***most of the books I read were young adult fiction {it's kind of what I'm into right now}
Oh! and by the way, I'm on book 71/100!
okay, okay. here goes.
63. Philomenia: A mother, her son, and a fifty year search- Martin Sixsmith (Just see the movie. I promise)
64. Love letters to the dead-Ava Dellaira {It begins as an assignment for English class: Write a letter to a dead person. Laurel chooses Kurt Cobain because her sister, May, loved him. And he died young, just like May did. Soon, Laurel has a notebook full of letters to people like Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Amelia Earhart, Heath Ledger, and more — though she never gives a single one of them to her teacher. She writes about starting high school, navigating new friendships, falling in love for the first time, learning to live with her splintering family. And, finally, about the abuse she suffered while May was supposed to be looking out for her. Only then, once Laurel has written down the truth about what happened to herself, can she truly begin to accept what happened to May. And only when Laurel has begun to see her sister as the person she was — lovely and amazing and deeply flawed — can she begin to discover her own path} -B&N overview
65. Four-Veronica Roth (The divergent series as told by Four)
66. If I stay-Gayle Forman {In the blink of an eye everything changes. Seventeen year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall what happened afterwards, watching her own damaged body being taken from the wreck. Little by little she struggles to put together the pieces- to figure out what she has lost, what she has left, and the very difficult choice she must make.} -B&N overview (PS the book was 100000X better than the movie)
67. Where she went-Gayle Forman (the sequel to If I stay)
68. Things fall apart-Chinua Achebe
69. Eleanor & Park-Rainbow Rowell {Set over the course of one school year in 1986, this is the story of two star-crossed misfits—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love—and just how hard it pulled you under.} -B&N overview ----I just heard this was being made into a movie, I CAN'T WAIT!
70. The maze runner-James Dashner {If you ain’t scared, you ain’t human. When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone. Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade. Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive. Everything is going to change. Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying. Remember. Survive. Run.} -B&N overview ----I'm excited for this movie to come out!
